One of the first things I noticed lacking in the patterns in TS3 were decent knits, so as soon as a pattern making tool became available, I made some.  Plus a random bonus wool texture.

The first 'basic' knit has the option for stripes, but can be made 'plain' by using the same color for both parts.  Obviously.  The last few are just basic single-color textures, but hopefully useful.

Since these are my first attempt, they're not particularly amazing or whatever, and I'm sure in a few short weeks I'll hate them and wish I'd done them completely differently.  I'll deal with that when the time comes.  In the mean time, enjoy.

Basic knit, shown with stripes.

Cable knit.

Circle knit.

Bonus wool.

Patterns located in the 'Fabric' category.

Installation instructions here.  As usual, I don't care what the hell you do with these.  Patterns originally came from Renderocity; all I did was resize and make fit for TS3.  When you're strange, faces come out of the rain.

*applauds* Wonderful wools! Q: Did you find it hard to make the patterns? HPs tute looks rather, err,  challenging and tedious.

If I'm reading the tutorial correctly:

If you have MATY's hack framework already installed, all the folders you need to install these should already be there. You should just have to unzip the files and put the .package files in C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages.

MATY's Framework for hacks is here. Just download and unzip it into C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3.

Thanks so much, I was really missing a nice wool felt. Love the stripey stockinette too.

Glad you guys like them!

I'll be perfectly honest; the tutorial itself was very confusing, but the actual technique is quite simple once you get it figured out.  It helps to think of the channels almost like 'alpha layers' for the various colors, with the parts you don't want that particular color on your greyscale texture blacked out.  Yes, in many ways, making actual patterns (as opposed to the more simplistic 'textures' I've done here) can be quite involved and tedious, but it's not really challenging if you're proficient with Photoshop.   Smiley

I love these so much. Maybe I'm stupid but what category are these under?

Shit... I knew I was forgetting something in my post!  They're under 'Fabric.'   Embarrassed
