My picture keeps disappearing

I have tried a couple different pictures( or maybe it's called an avatar I don't know) and with all of them they are gone within a few days. It's just an empty box with a little X. Are only certain types of pictures allowed? Am I maybe uploading it incorrectly? The pictures I use are pictures taken in game. I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place or something. If it is of course I expect it to be moved or deleted.

If you are talking about that picture under your username then yes, it's avatar. It is quite possible that the one you are uploading is too big. Try uploading one that is not bigger than 125x125 pixels.

Yes, I agree with evanesco. I had this exact problem. and now mine never goes away. There are a few ways I know. Which include using paint and checking the sizes. OR you can make your picture into an icon which would be 100x100 and then it'll never go away unless you change it. Which is the way I keep mine. If you need help making an icon you can let me know and I'll do it for you.

Thanks monalisa! How do I check the sizes in paint? And if I can't figure it out I would love it if you could help me make an icon. Just tell me what to do!

It looks like you got it! But you click attributes under the Image category. and then you can change it. and your welcome.

I put it up there but I know it won't stick. Thank you so much for the help. Gonna try that now and will let you know if i got it!

EDIT: I think I got it. It looks a little blurry to me not sure if there is a way around that but it really isn't a big deal. I really really appreciate all your help!

Seven Words, you can always sharpen your picture to help with the bluriness that comes with resizing it. If you have photoshop, it's called Sharpen. I'm not sure what it's called in other programs.

I don't have photoshop but I do use Photobucket and I think there is a sharpen option on there. I didn't even think about using it til you mentioned it. Thank you very much!

yeah, it looks good to me. But if it bugged you that much you could give me the whole picture and I could make it into an icon if you needed.

Or you could just download GIMP, which is free, and resize your picture by changing it's scale. It doesn't even get blurry that way. Man, there are a lot of "my avatar gets eaten!"-threads lately ...

I don't know what happened. I changed the size and it still disappeared. So Monalisa just tell me what to do to get you the picture if you don't mind making me an icon.
